There are some wedding venues that make it easy to find beautiful places for photos throughout the entire day, and Ivy Hall at Roswell Mill is one of them. Located in Roswell, Georgia, Ivy Hall combines the character of a historic mill with beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces overlooking Vickery Creek.

We had the chance to photograph and film Stella and Tom’s wedding at Ivy Hall, and it was such a fun day to be part of. As an Ivy Hall wedding photographer and videographer, we were able to capture everything from the getting-ready moments and ceremony to portraits, the reception, and all of the little moments in between.

Stella and Tom’s wedding day had everything we love about photographing weddings: genuine moments, beautiful details, plenty of time with the people they love, and a venue that gave us so many different places to create.

One of our favorite things about Ivy Hall is how much variety there is throughout the property. The venue features two separate rooms, a large outdoor deck overlooking Vickery Creek, and plenty of different areas for portraits and candid moments throughout the day.

That variety gave us plenty to work with as we moved through Stella and Tom’s wedding day.

Photographing a Wedding at Ivy Hall

The outdoor deck overlooking Vickery Creek is one of the standout areas. With trees, park benches, outdoor seating, and twinkle lights, it creates a beautiful setting for ceremonies, cocktail hour, and portraits.

Inside, Ivy Hall has floor-to-ceiling windows, hardwood floors, custom ceiling draping, and Edison bulb lighting. The combination of the natural light and historic details gives the space a completely different feel from the outdoor areas.

For us, this meant we could keep the photos feeling clean and true-to-color while still capturing the character of the venue.

Wedding Videography at Ivy Hall

Along with photographing Stella and Tom’s wedding, we also filmed their day.

One of the reasons we love providing both photography and videography is that we are able to work together throughout the entire wedding day. Instead of bringing in separate teams for photo and video, we are the same two people working side-by-side from the beginning of the day through the reception.

For a venue like Ivy Hall, that also means we can capture more than just the big moments. We can film the movement through the venue, the atmosphere of cocktail hour, the excitement before the ceremony, the reactions during speeches, and all of those little interactions that make a wedding feel like your wedding.

Our goal with wedding films is to keep them cinematic while still making them feel like the actual day.
